This is like a jar full of marbles that brought you joy as a child, but the chic version which you can hang on your wall as an adult. The subtle textures of the different transparencies are what make this piece interesting to look at time and time again.
This acrylic painting on paper started off very minimal with the bottom half in Buff Titanium and the top half in Payne’s Grey. Slowly I built up layers of shapes playing with the transparency of the paint by diluting it, sometimes to almost a completely transparent glaze, or straight from the tube like in the very prominent circular marble.
This small piece would look great in a grouping with other artwork, or you could lean it onto a bookshelf to style with some beautiful objects. On its own it is very well suited for an area where you have a small amount of wall space that you would like to jazz up with some fabulous art.
Pair it with my artwork Bubble Bath.
